Ads and notification placements
Ads manages in-app campaigns and placements. It does not automatically buy advertising from an external ad network.
Before you start
Integrate the required SDK ad/notification module, configure placements in your app and check plan/team access. Use only creatives you have permission to publish.
Step by step
- Open Ads for the intended app and choose Create Ad.
- Select the ad type and fill in the creative fields shown for it: text, image/media and destination as applicable.
- Review targeting, schedule, display behavior and other available placement controls.
- Use the creative crop/preview controls and check legibility at the actual placement size.
- Check whether the campaign is active and whether its timing/targeting matches your test device.
- Use Save & Launch only when ready for delivery. An existing campaign uses Update Campaign.
- In the app-specific or global Ads Manager, inspect the intended app/placement before modifying notification campaigns.
- Test on a development device that meets the targeting rules, then inspect available impression and interaction statistics.
Comparing creatives
Ads has no built-in variant split. To compare two creatives, run them as separate ads over the same window, change one meaningful variable, and compare their impressions and clicks. Weight only sets the order in which eligible ads are returned to the SDK; it does not divide traffic between them.
Confirm it worked
The correct creative is delivered in the app and the corresponding activity appears in the report. Saving a campaign is not proof that the SDK displayed it.
Troubleshooting
Check activation, schedule, targeting, frequency rules, placement identifiers, SDK setup and image availability. AdMob revenue reporting is configured separately in Integrations.
