Effective Date: July 28, 2026
Legal Entity: alkashier
This Privacy Policy describes how alkashier ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application, CV maker (the "App"). We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA"), and requirements established by major application distribution platforms (e.g., Apple App Store and Google Play Store).
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using CV maker, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
To provide you with document generation and resume-building functionality, we collect information that you directly provide to us as well as data collected automatically when you interact with the App.
A. Information You Provide Directly
- Curriculum Vitae / Resume Information: Personal identifiers and professional details you input into the App, including your full name, email address, phone number, physical address, employment history, educational background, skills, certifications, references, profile photos, and any custom fields you create.
- Account Information: If applicable, your account registration details (such as name, email address, and authentication credentials).
- Support & Communication Data: Any information or correspondence you provide when contacting us for customer support, technical assistance, or privacy queries.
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Device & Usage Data: Technical details such as your mobile device ID, operating system version, unique device identifier (UUID), IP address, app version, language preferences, and crash reports.
- Analytics Data: Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics (e.g., features accessed, duration of app sessions) to help us diagnose technical issues and optimize performance.
2. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Compliance)
If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, our legal basis for collecting and using your personal data depends on the data concerned and the context in which we collect it:
- Performance of a Contract: Processing is necessary to provide the resume creation and storage services requested by you.
- Legitimate Interests: Processing is necessary for our legitimate interests, such as securing the App, improving performance, preventing fraud, and conducting basic analytics, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: Where required by law, we process your data based on your explicit consent (e.g., accessing camera/photo library to upload a profile picture). You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal Obligation: Processing is necessary to comply with applicable legal or regulatory duties.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following specific purposes:
- To render, generate, export, and manage your CVs, resumes, and cover letters.
- To store your profiles and templates locally on your device or securely via backend cloud services (if cloud sync is enabled).
- To maintain, troubleshoot, optimize, and update the App.
- To respond to customer support inquiries and process data subject requests.
- To enforce our terms, prevent illegal activity, and maintain application security.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. As described in the Advertising section, sharing advertising identifiers with our advertising partners may nonetheless constitute a "sale" or "share" for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law, and you may opt out at any time. We share your information only under the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We may share data with vetted third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, crashing report reporting, customer support tools). These providers are bound by strict contractual obligations to keep your data confidential and secure.
- Legal & Regulatory Disclosures: We may disclose information if required by court order, law enforcement request, subpoena, or applicable law, or to defend legal claims.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of company assets, user data may be transferred as part of the transaction under equivalent confidentiality standards.
5. Data Storage, Security, and International Transfers
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures (including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security audits) to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence. If we transfer personal data originating from the EEA/UK to countries without an adequacy decision, we rely on standard contractual clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission or equivalent legal transfer mechanisms to safeguard your data.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, provide our services, resolve disputes, and comply with statutory legal requirements. If you delete your account or submit a deletion request, we will remove or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is legally mandated.
7. Data Deletion Requests & Rights Management
We recognize user rights over personal data and provide straightforward mechanisms to request access, correction, or permanent deletion of your data.

AI features and the data they process
ResumePilot offers optional AI features: AI Improve, Cover Letter, Job Match, Interview Prep, and importing a resume from a PDF.
What we send. When, and only when, you tap an AI button, the app sends the text needed for that feature:
| Feature | Data sent |
|---|---|
| AI Improve | The professional summary or bullet point you chose to improve, and the related job title |
| Cover Letter | Your name, professional summary, job titles and companies, skills, and the company name and job description you entered |
| Job Match | Your professional summary, skills, and the job description you entered |
| Interview Prep | Your professional summary, target role, and the job description you entered |
| Import from PDF | The text extracted from the PDF you select, which normally includes your name, contact details, work history and education |
We do not send your photo, contacts, files, device identifiers, or any resume you have not submitted to an AI feature.
How we collect it. The data comes from what you type into the app or from a PDF you choose to import. Nothing is collected in the background.
Who receives it. The text is sent over HTTPS to SmartLinks AI at
smartlinks.live, a service operated by [COMPANY NAME], the developer of
ResumePilot. It is not shared with, or forwarded to, any other AI provider or
third party. [If this ever changes, name the vendor here and in the app's
disclosure sheet.]
How it is used. Solely to generate the text you requested and return it to your device. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or training models, and it is not sold. [Retention: e.g. "Request text is kept for up to N days for abuse prevention and then deleted." — state the real period.]
Your permission and control. The app asks for your explicit permission the first time you use an AI feature and shows you exactly what will be sent and to whom. Nothing is sent before you agree. You can withdraw permission at any time in Settings › Privacy › AI data sharing; the AI features then send nothing.
Local storage. Your resumes, versions, exports and photos are stored on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.

9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to, or intended for use by, individuals under the age of 16 (or under the age of 13 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child without verifiable parental consent, we will promptly delete such information from our servers. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at our support page (https://smartlinks.live/app/cv-maker/support).
10. App Store & Play Store Requirements
In accordance with Apple App Store Guidelines and Google Play Store Developer Policies:
- The App requests only permissions strictly necessary to fulfill its core functionality (e.g., storage/file access to save generated PDF resumes).
- Users can access the App's core privacy settings and submit data deletion requests at any time via the link provided in Section 7 or within the App interface.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our legal obligations, technology, or data handling practices. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, providing prominent notice within the App or via email.
Advertising and Third-Party Advertising Partners
This app displays advertising served by Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, Google and its certified partners may collect and process your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA), IP address, approximate location, and ad interaction data.
Where required in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any personalised advertising is shown, using Google's IAB TCF-certified consent form. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the privacy options in the app's settings.
You can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings (Android: Settings → Privacy & security → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking). See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and Google's advertising partners.
Because we display personalised advertising, our sharing of advertising identifiers with advertising partners may constitute a "sale" or "share" for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). You may opt out at any time by declining personalised advertising in the app's privacy options, or by limiting ad tracking in your device settings.
